In mijn autonoom documentaire werk richt ik mij op persoonlijke verhalen die raken aan mijn familiegeschiedenis. Ik verken thema's zoals (familie)relaties, zichtbaarheid, herinneringen en identiteit
Voor mijn projecten bekijk ik oude familiefoto's opnieuw. Met mijn huidige kennis over het verleden probeer ik deze foto's opnieuw te interpreteren.
Met reproducties van deze oude foto's, gevonden historische beelden, archief-onderzoek, interviews en het maken van nieuwe beelden, probeer ik een persoonlijk verhaal te reconstrueren. Een verhaal waarin iemand anders wellicht bepaalde thema's herkent.

I'm a photojournalist working in the South of the Netherlands for several media and institutions.
In my documentary work I focus on personal stories that touch upon my family history. I explore themes like relationships, visibility, memories, recognition and identity. I try to find answers to my questions, but have my memories become too vague by now?
For my projects I examine old family pictures and (historical) found footage. I try to reinterpret these photos with my current knowledge. With the reproductions of old footage, interviews, archival research and new pictures, I attempt to reconstruct a (personal) story. A story that also can be relatable for other people.
